Holocaust Memorial Day

Each year, in commemoration of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides, the Edinburgh Interfaith Association (EIFA) endeavours to pay homage to the millions who perished and to honour the survivors.

Our annual Civic Reception brings together guests from diverse backgrounds, including school pupils, keynote speakers, and survivors themselves. We invite you to explore below to learn more about our activities and events from this year's commemoration.

Holocaust Memorial Day 2024

The Polenaktion 1938 official video depicts the highlights of this historic and very unique Holocaust Memorial exhibition along with many inspiring speeches. The exhibition appeared in Edinburgh, Scotland from 23 January to 2 February 2024 and was sponsored by the Edinburgh Interfaith Association and the Edinburgh Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany. This film was sponsored by Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany. Speakers include Christiane Hullman, Ben MacPherson MSP, Professor Joe Goldblatt, Iain Stewart, Josh Heimann, Golda Igla, and Elie Glaser.
